Last summer we had the pleasure of hosting a rather special guest at our B&B. Her name is Jen Armstrong and she’s a very talented singer/songwriter. We also found that we have a lot in common with Jen: she’s vegan, she has two adorable dogs and she advocates for animal and human rights.
The reason Jen was visiting Great Bernera was to start work on her debut album at our local recording studio. We may be situated on a remote island in the North Atlantic, but just a mile and a half from our home is a first class recording studio, which regularly hosts professional artists from far and wide.
Jen returned to Bernera just before Christmas to do some more work on her album and she treated a group of us to a live concert in the studio. We loved both her self-penned songs as well as her beautiful voice and would highly recommend following Jen’s work on her YouTube Channel.
Here Jen explains what her new album is about and what inspired her to write and record it:
Jen’s album is now in its final production stages but she needs a little bit of help to be able to get her message about animal and human rights out to the world. It would be greatly appreciated if you would consider making a donation, however small, to help Jen cover the costs of production and to realise her dream. Backing can be given via Jen’s crowdfunding page.
Thank you to our blog subscribers for supporting this project. And thank you, Jen, for being who you are and for doing the audacious work the world needs. We count ourselves very lucky to have met you.
